Mike and I have spent the past 6 years updating all of the systems on Lunar Bird and now that we’re down to the last month of employment, with the realities of this dream fast approaching, my emotions are taking a wild ride. While Mike is in his engineering element to make sure the boat is safe and ready to go, I have been vacillating between excitement, fear of the unknown, and sadness of leaving behind a profession that I love. It‘s hard to step away from things you know, things that keep you safe and secure and imaging yourself in a new way. But, we want to live the moments of our lives with purpose, challenge, and adventure so...and so the time of boldness approaches. Our last haul out was complete in April and we plan to spend the next 4-6 weeks completing the remaining items on the “to do” list. In August we’ll text our equipment...and ourselves before heading down the coast to Mexico. So...as we get closer, I’ll try to post more frequent updates. It makes me happy to feel like our family and friends are included in this adventure.
