Off the Dock…Kinda

Today was a big day for the Lunar Bird Crew! After 9 years at Liberty Bay Marina, we officially gave up our slip and anchored out in the bay. Although we hoped to be done with most projects by now, we just aren’t there yet. We’ve been making lots of progress but there is a lot to do to prepare a boat for ocean sailing and there‘s also a lot of loose ends to tie up when you leave your old life to prepare for another. We need to get rid of everything we have in storage and need to get rid of our cars which have served us well this past decade.

It was a weird mix of emotions today…excitement for our pending adventure (wherever that is), sadness to close a great chapter in our lives, and a little frustration to still be working on equipment installation. Overall though, this is one step closer to the next big thing, and that’s really awesome. We have loved our time at Liberty Bay Marina and cherish all of our friends who became a second family. We hope to see you all on the water from time to time.
