One of the main challenges of boat projects is that in order to access the places that we're working on, you have to empty out all of your closets/cabinets to be able to work in that area...and since we live in about 350 sq ft, the only place to put everything is right in the main salon where you are. So...project time is inevitably messy and it requires a lot of patience.
In this particular situation, we were running the electrical wires for the new satellite communication system as well as out hydrogenerator that will allow us to generate some power. Since the wires run from the back of the boat to the navigation station, nearly every cabinet from the stern to the middle of the boat had to be emptied out to run the new wire...good times folks! In these pics, you can see that Mr. Maximus provided his usual level of supervision, while we removed the stored items from the hanging closet and removed the a mattress to expose the starboard fuel tank. We also emptied some cabinets in the Nav Station.
The result of this messy nonsense, is that with our Iridium Go Satellite system, I have now added a link which allows everyone to track Lunar Bird as we explore. You will see that the wind overlay shows on the map too. This system also allows us to download GRIB files for weather planning and routing. You can find the tracking link on our home page or in the menu bar. Hope it will be fun for you all.
I can’t wait to stalk you guys.
