We made a pitstop for a few days to do some birding in the estuary and explore the beautiful shell beach.

We had an excellent 2 night downwind sail to Bahia Santa Maria...except for the squid family that tried to hijack the boat.

After leaving Santa Barbara, we explored some of the Channel Islands off the coast of California, including Santa Cruz and Santa Catalina

Santa Barbara was a wonderful location to spend time with friends & family before heading out to explore the Channel Islands

We crossed from Canada back into the US and were greeted by dolphins! We also had our first close encounter with humpback whales.
